Masks in Class: An Unacceptable New Low

This week’s recommendation for secondary school children to wear masks all day in class has to be a new low, even for this cowardly, dishonest government.

Perhaps even worse is the way they’ve trotted out their own “dodgy dossier” of “evidence” (great demolition job here) to justify a sickening move that appears nothing more than a way to appease teaching unions and Twitter hysterics…

…members of which groups have now ALL been offered no fewer than THREE Covid injections as well, let’s not forget!

And all this just as the total uselessness for infection control of the cloth ‘face coverings’ governments across the world have forced on their citizens for 18 months is passing into the accepted mainstream by the hour.

The whole thing really is enough to make you weep… but there is never any weeping at Smile Free!

Instead, we act by pushing back at the offenders and letting them feel our heat… here’s what you can do to fight this with us:

1. Send this template email/letter

Parent group UsForThem have a blistering template letter here along with info about where best to send it (ministers, your MP, teachers and governors if you want to) – let as many know your feelings as you can.

We know MPs are often poor responders to emails and letters but they do notice volume of complaints.

2. Tell the teachers’ unions what you think of their rabidly pro-mask position

The two largest are the NEU and the NASUWT.

3. Be aware your kids or grandkids do not HAVE to comply

If your kids or grandkids are directly affected, remember that ‘masks in class’ is in fact only a RECOMMENDATION, even though it is often presented as a requirement.

We rightly sense a lot of anger at this latest move and gratifyingly, non-compliance is growing – according to this Telegraph article today, only 5% of kids at one school agreed to take a lateral flow test and wear a mask.

The pro-maskers are faltering on this, exactly as they should be.

Let’s make sure they hear our voices loud and clear, and get these ghastly things gone for good.
